The IFC She Wins Africa is a program designed to assist women entrepreneurs across sub–Saharan Africa by offering training, mentorship and networking opportunities that will help their startups succeed. African women have the highest rate of entrepreneurial activity in the world at an estimated 24% and are more likely to start businesses than their counterparts in other regions in the world. However, several factors persistently hinder the potential of female founders and entrepreneurs in Africa. Art for Well-Being Competition ($1000 Grand Prize)

The 2023 application for the Art for Well-Being Competition is open. The competition has three categories: film, video and design through which judges want to see you express yourself and answer the question “What does well-being mean to you?”.   Quality and relevance to the five domains of adolescent well-being will be crucial for successful entries to the competition and selected masterpieces will be featured at the Global Forum for Adolescents itself, at major events leading up to the Global Forum such as UN General Assembly in New York and throughout the 1.8 Billion Young People for Change campaign. Submissions are accepted until 2 July 2023, with winners decided through social media and jury votes, and announced at the Global Forum for Adolescents, 11-12 October 2023.   Young people worldwide between the ages of 10 – 24 years are eligible to apply. Breakthrough Junior Challenge ($250,000 Prize)

The Breakthrough Junior Challenge is an annual global competition for students to inspire creative thinking about science. Students ages 13 to 18 from countries across the globe are invited to create and submit original videos (2:00 minutes maximum) that brings to life a concept or theory in the life sciences, physics or mathematics. The submissions are judged on the student’s ability to communicate complex scientific ideas in engaging, illuminating, and imaginative ways. The Breakthrough Junior Challenge Prize If your video is chosen as the Winner, you will receive: $250,000 Post-secondary scholarship; $50,000 Prize for your teacher, and $100,000 Breakthrough Science Lab. The Breakthrough Prize was created to honour important advancements in the categories of Fundamental Physics, Life Sciences and Mathematics. The Breakthrough Prizes are sponsored by foundations established by Sergey Brin, Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg, Yuri and Julia Milner, and Anne Wojcicki. The Breakthrough Prize aims to celebrate the best scientific work and inspire the next generation of scientists. Water Science Policy Photostory Competition

Are you an individual who loves telling meaningful stories with photos? Then, you should apply for the Water Science Policy Photostory Competition. You stand a chance to win €400, and your photos featured in a global photobook and displayed in New York during the UN 2023 Water Conference. Building on UNESCO’s cross-disciplinary mandate on culture, education and natural sciences, Water Science Policy, under the patronage of UNESCO’s World Water Assessment Program, is facilitating this photostory competition.
