Globally, we are living through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.investopedia.com\/terms\/i\/inflation.asp\">inflation<\/a> which is reducing the purchasing power of many; climate change which is leading to a food shortage and higher costs for current supply; war and insecurity in many regions; as well as, supply chain disruptions as a result of global political unrest and the impact of COVID 19.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These crises are making people very uncertain and worried about their future. These people include your employees who live through these struggles, causing fear and panic ultimately affecting their mental health and quality of work.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And so, how do you alleviate some of these burdens they face so as to increase employee satisfaction, reduce their stress levels, and increase <a href=\"https:\/\/msmehub.org\/staging\/6671\/how-to-retain-your-best-employees\/\">retention<\/a> and productivity?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Salary Increase<\/span><\/strong> &#8211; the most obvious solution for increasing employee satisfaction is to raise their wages as inflation increases so as to provide a living wage.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Welfare<\/strong><\/span> &#8211; provide a monthly welfare allowance to employees to subsidize their transportation and food expenses.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">One-Time Payment <\/span><\/strong>&#8211; provide a one-time \u2018hardship\u2019 payment similar to a bonus to employees.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Hybrid Work Environment <\/span><\/strong>&#8211; provide the option for employees to <a href=\"https:\/\/msmehub.org\/staging\/6671\/how-to-develop-a-remote-working-option-for-your-team\/\">work from home<\/a> a couple of days a week so they save on transportation costs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Staff Carpool<\/span><\/strong> &#8211; provide shuttle buses for employees, this allows them to save on transportation costs and the stress of commuting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Office Lunch &amp; Snacks<\/span><\/strong> &#8211; provide free lunch and snacks for employees.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Interest-Free Loans <\/span><\/strong>&#8211; give employees the opportunity to request for loans from the organization at a zero interest rate.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Some of these tips are more feasible than the others depending on the size of the organization and its cash flow.
